Pink LED? Auto shutdown?

I just got my Analogue 3D second hand from a guy who bought it thinking it would work with his flash cart out the box which it of course doesn't. That's all fine and dandy with me but keep in mind I have not yet updated it. It's the same firmware it shipped with since neither the previous owner nor I fully got into the woods with it yet.

So I'm hoping this is an update thing that will be fixed after updating the firmware but I noticed today after a brief session playing Army Men Air Combat that the LED turned sort of a peachy pink colour and then the system powered off automatically? I couldn't find anything in the manual about this. Is this a problem the console had on launch that was fixed with a patch or am I FUBAR?
