Are you self conscious about how you look downstairs?

I grew up and live in a majority white country, so this insecurity is probably worse for me than women who grew up and live in India. I'm quite pale skinned, but my vulva and the skin around my anus is very dark- much darker than my skin tone. Its very noticeable and something I do feel very self conscious about during intimacy. I know its completely normal and natural for people to have darker skin around their genitalia. But I have had (white) partners comment on how dark I am and I can't help feeling insecure.
