Judicator: I clearly don't know what I'm doing

I am playing an abilities spec that I don't see a lot of, in that I use Blessed Hammers for trash mobs and Heavans Fury for bosses plus Spears of the Heavens to help with bosses and trash mobs.

Judicator is my Oath and I am using Holy Bolt to Mark mobs for judgment.

I have read up on marking for judgement and then triggering explosions with Blessed Hammers. But I see no visual indications that anything is being marked for judgment or exploding. Blessed Hammers is doing a good job of clearing hordes of trash mobs whether it works or not, but I don't see the Holy globes or halos above the mobs I try to mark, and I see no obvious explosion graphics.

If this sounds familiar to anyone, I would love to hear some advice.
