So I need help on an assignment in my internship, and I couldn't find this specifically on Youtube. Thought I could do it, but as always, fusion is making my head spin. First of all though, on M1 Pro, 16GB RAM, Studio 21 BETA Build 33 (Will upgrade once I'm done with this lol) and am working with H.264 footage. Apologies if it's a knucklehead question, or if I'm not explaining well my predicament.

Essentially I'm trying to find the easiest way to create a clipping mask in fusion, I have footage with a clean white studio background, a text layer on top of it, and then a duplicate of the original layer with the subject masked on top so she is covering the text. That part's easy and done. The thing I'm having trouble with is merging the text in fusion with a film burn loop so it is overlayed inside the text. I also need to apply a gradient map and speed editor to the film burn loop. I have tried just setting the composite mode of the text layer to Add, but that just makes the text too transparent. Otherwise, I can't seem to eliminate the black background that is created by the film burn loop, not with any sort of keyer tool or masking. Pic related is the node tree of the text layer, where Template is the text, and Mix Transitions is the loop. I would really appreciate if anyone can help me out here and tell me how to structure this particular node tree, and otherwise, have a nice day.

Help with text fusion overlays.
