Why are people so hostile toward harmless pregnancy excitement?
This subreddit is supposed to be a place for advice, support, and suggestions during what can be one of the happiest and sometimes most challenging times in someone’s life.
I made a post simply asking for song suggestions for a pregnancy announcement. Instead of receiving helpful ideas, I was met with negativity, sarcasm, and people taking the piss out of me for wanting to do something nice.
It’s pretty disgusting that people feel comfortable sitting behind a screen on a pregnancy subreddit and treating others like that. If a post isn’t your thing, move on. There’s no need to ridicule someone who’s simply excited about their pregnancy and asking for ideas.
Look, it’s Reddit. If people want to be arseholes on random threads, that’s unfortunately nothing new.
But seeing that kind of behaviour on a pregnancy subreddit, aimed at someone who’s just excited about their baby and looking for ideas, is genuinely bizarre.
A little kindness goes a long way.
