Phone charger overheating

The phone charger is the only good place to set your phone - BUT, it consistently overheats, I'm sure it will only get worse this summer. My iphone 17 pro max says it's over temperature every time I take it out of the charger and I have to wait for it to cool down. That charger is basically useless as a result. What are folks doing? Almost need like a little fan, which is dumb. I'll probably mount something to the top left corner of the infotainment display, one of those magsafe chargers with a suction cup that have a fan built in, then route the usb-c cable across the top and down the right side of the infotainment console. I don't feel like they designed the accessible storage very well. I end up putting my keys/wallet in one of the cup holders, and my cell phone too.
