Hairstyle question

Has anyone ever had the experience of their scalp bleeding after barrel twist. About 2 weeks ago I got my hair retwisted and got barrels it was tight but not anything I couldn’t handle I was scratching my hair today and felt what I thought was just dried gel or product build up underneath one of the barrels and decided to pick it out once I got it taken out I realized it was a dry clump on blood. Has anyone had this experience? And do you think I should go back to that stylist? She’s been doing my hair since February and I’ve never had something like this happen before.
