I feel lost in marketing.
Ever since I was a child, I enjoyed programming and technology. Later, I started creating my first projects meant to generate money, but I failed (many times xd). Every time, I learnt my lessons and went back to the drawing board. Just as many others, I tried hardware which turned out to be expensive to manufacture, spent way too much time on a single project, didn't achieve the desired outcome of the project, started a project without realizing my personal liability, didn't have enough capital, started a community project without a good plan,...
Just TRUST me, I've tried it all and failed (learnt).
I'm writing this post for all of us, who haven't nailed it yet and are tired of listening to people on Youtube, whose problem isn't distribution/lack of audience. I don't expect to make it without failing again, but I realized I would be extremely grateful for a direction to head off from people who have already made it.
This week, I released a project that is simple, built for my own needs, and easily monetizable. I launched a WordPress plugin, but I have no idea how to show it to the world. I don't have an audience that cares, people go on Reddit usually for fun and just a very small fraction needs my product just when browsing their homepage. Also tried Google Ads as a small experiment, but the conversion rate is weak and it's really not worth the money. Cold mailing is forbidden in Europe and also doesn't easily convert to sales.
Please, what to try next and how to think about selling for all sorts of projects with different monetization models?
