Changes to Flock installation at Broadway/Old 63

Discussion

At some point within the last 48 hours, the 2 Falcon units attached to the streetlight outside Scooter's Coffee have been replaced with 1 Falcon unit (automatic license plate reader) and 1 Condor unit (pan/tilt/zoom camera used for monitoring pedestrians) and moved to the top of the streetlight.

Condor units (several downtown) are AI-enabled to automatically recognize pedestrians, zoom in on them, and follow their movements.

According to the transparency portal, https://transparency.flocksafety.com/columbia-mo-pd, there are 112 LPR "and other cameras" in Columbia at this point. This doesn't include similar cameras, manufactured by Axis Communications, used by the University of Missouri.

Considering what might be effective means of pushback. The idea that speaking out in public against this, e.g. at the city council, will be instantly linked to one's identity which because of this surveillance tech can be instantly linked to one's daily movements, has quite a chilling effect.
