What exactly are we purchasing?

Just got a water softener and RO system installed in the Phoenix metro area. Although I feel fairly confident in the equipment and cost, I still have that feeling of uncertainty in what I purchased.

I get the sense that the majority of water softener industry is selling/installing the same equipment but just rebranding it and putting their unique sales pitch on their products to maximize their profit.

The equipment I got is mostly unbranded.These are the brands/makes I could decipher:

Softener valve: Clack WS1
Tank: Aquatrol
RO system: Not able to verify but this was printed on the box: “Arizona Environmental R/O Pro Series 5”

Anybody share this perspective or confirm?
