Would you choose Lake District or Scotland for a 5 day trip?
We’re trying to decide between spending 5 days in the Lake District or 5 days in Scotland (Edinburgh + Highlands) during our UK trip this summer and can’t make up our minds. We tend to enjoy nature, scenic drives, viewpoints, lakes, museums, and moderate hikes. The Lake District looks absolutely beautiful and seems more relaxed and compact, with less driving and plenty of lakes and walks, while Scotland looks like it might have a bigger wow factor with Edinburgh, Glencoe, the Highlands, lochs, and more dramatic scenery overall.
For those who’ve done both, if you only had 5 days and had never been to either before, which would you choose and why? Any regrets going with one over the other? Thanks!
