Wedding price gouging

What’s the story with price gouging for weddings in this country

Is this bullshit or am I tripping?

I text a page on Facebook with a screenshot of a wedding cake from her page and I asked how much is this 2 tier cake. I was quoted €155. I then text to go ahead and book the cake and told her the date of the wedding and asked if she was free that day. I then got a message saying sorry I didn’t know it was a wedding the price is now €350. For the same cake!

I’m sorry but a cake is a cake why do people add on extra money for the same service just because it’s a wedding, as if the day isn’t expensive enough.

Her justification was that more due care is needed for a wedding cake for my special day but an extra €200 euro, more than double the price is for more due care?

Am I in the wrong or is this bullshit please cause I’m losing my mind
