Laid Off on H1B and how to maintain status

Hey all! Wanted to know what all are my options to maintain status after the 60 day grace period! Got laid off on May 22, 2026 (Last paycheck was on May 31).

Had been advised not to file for b1/b2 visa as if i can get a job offer b1/b2 to h1b visa will get an rfe! But i came across this video in https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZP6rh2B9qK/?igsh=bWM5MDZlNTFwZWpt where the op is saying that if an honest reason for filing for b1/b2 will not trigger a rfe!

1. Wanted to see if anyone was successful in converting from b1/b2 to h1b?
2. Also, what would be the best time for someone to file this after getting laid off on h1b? Is it after 1 month?
