Fine without warning

Lease contract issue
I was fined for trash without a warning, on contract it said the first offense warning, second offense fine. When asked at front office, they said that a recent community wide email regarding trash rules was the warning, however that email does not mention that this is a warning for your first offense or anything such as you have made an offense, it does not even mention my apartment unit, just says "Dear valued residents". The contract says this two lines:
Door-to-Door Trash Addendum: "In the event the Lease Contract and this Addendum conflict, the terms of this Addendum control..............................If not complied with, resident will receive a warning. If after the first warning the resident is again in violation... a removal fee of $25.00 per bag will be charged."
(Although there were two bags, they were kept such that they do not leak and not fall down or spread however, I guess that does not matter legally.)
They are adamant about the "dear valued residents" email being the warning, I have talked at front desk and have send them email, twice. They have not replied to the second email yet. Is it worth to go to court? Either way, could they make my life hard (like delaying maintenance requests) due to this.
