I’m replacing my motherboard. Is there anything I need to be aware of?

I’m about to buy a new motherboard because of a hardware issue and im going to stay on the same platform (am4). However, I hear that you need to reinstall windows or backup your files and all that. Also since mine was a prebuilt, I’m scared I’ll lose my windows key. Is all of this necessary or can I just install it like any other part without worrying about all that
