Do People Follow Condition Based Servicing As Cars Age?

I've got a BMW X1 2017 diseal. My car's CBS was done in February 2025 with the next at 8k miles or Feb 2027. My car drives absolutely fine, however I've noticed some slight hesitation when moving from a temporary stop in traffic little stuff like that.
BMW main dealer servicing advose to wait till the CBS timeline. Is this normal and can I stick to the recommendations?
