So Grateful for the VA

Health Care :caduceus:

I just want to say that, if it weren't for the VA, I would be forced to go into debt for emergencies like I had today. I am not able to work and I have no insurance. At about midnight, I started having excruciating pain in my lower back that wrapped around to my groin and was accompanied by severe nausea. I already knew what it was, as I have dealt with it before, and knew I needed to go to the ER. The pain was so bad I could barely walk. If it weren't for my VA Healthcare, I would have had to go to the state funded hospital, sit for hours, get subpar care because they treat all back pain as drug seeking behavior, and would have been left with a massive bill I couldn't pay. Thankfully, I was able to go the local privately owned hospital and was in and out in about 2.5 hours after receiving very good care for my kidney stones and I won't have to pay anything out of pocket. Days like today leave me feeling so grateful for the VA. When I truly need care, I can always depend on it.
