Question Chapter 38

When they get attacked by the red elemental creature because of Jack pissing on the wall (hilarious btw) everyone rushes into the safe room. How did they get there? Aren't people not allowed in the safe room when there is a monster nearby? I remember this being an issue at the beginning with the goblins. Did I miss something?
