Is a Honda CR-V Hybrid worth it if my insurance doubles?
I'm considering buying a Honda CR-V Hybrid, but I've been told my insurance will increase from about $150/month to $300/month.
At that point, I'm wondering if the fuel savings from the hybrid are enough to justify an extra $1,800 per year in insurance costs?
A few details:
I own a house with a garage.
I have solar panels.
I don't drive a huge number of kilometres, mostly local driving with occasional road trips.
I'm looking at SUVs and prefer something reliable and practical.
I've been considering the Honda CR-V Hybrid, Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, KIA and possibly an EV.
However, I was told my insurance could increase from about $150/month to $300/month.
My priorities are reliability and low maintenance costs.
