Firmware Beginner’s Guide?

I’m a long-term e-reader user but XTEInk newbie!! Just purchased the X4 direct from the brand. I want to install firmware but am confused as to what would be best for me? Crosspoint/Crossink/VCodex/somethinf else?? I mostly read epubs of novels/long form fiction from Calibre.
Any guidance is super appreciated!
