I built an extension that rewrites your CV to match any job offer (built it after 200 failed applications)

Quick story behind it: I spent months job hunting and sent ~200 applications with barely any replies. Turned out most CVs get filtered by ATS software before a human sees them, and if your CV doesn't match the job's keywords, you're out even if you're qualified.

The fix is tailoring your CV to every offer, but doing that by hand is exhausting. So I built CV Adapter.

How it works:

  • Click it on any job listing (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor…)
  • It extracts the offer in one click
  • AI rewrites your CV to match the role's keywords
  • You get a formatted PDF in 30-60 sec, review and apply

Tech side, in case you're curious: lightweight extension (~15KB), it pulls the job description from the page, sends it plus your base CV to an LLM, and returns the PDF. You can pick template, experience level and model. Freemium: 3 free CVs/month, just shipped v1.0.2.

Founder here, would love feedback from people who actually build extensions:

  • The Chrome Web Store discovery problem is rough early on, anything that worked for you?
  • Any permissions/manifest gotchas you'd watch out for on a tool that reads page content?
