Decorate a staff temporarily?

I'm marching in the pride parade tomorrow and my staff is black and doesn't light up. I'd like to decorate it so it looks nice in the middle of the day. We're not allowed to use fire under the parade permit. Anyone have any creative, cheap and temporary ideas?
