Thinking outside of the technical & narrative
Only because I had no idea of anything backrooms before this so I’ve purely watched it with no expectations which led me to explore it through human psyche.
Quite a fascinating thing to consider in the context of the film - when a door is open is it “on” or “off”? A door is on when it’s performing its function
In that case, is a door’s function to allow access or to create divide?
Also interesting how the motif of doors are incessant but it is only through a window that Clark perceives to succeed in “recovering” his power. In that a widow allows you the duality of doors. You experience the outside/external which is distorted because it is underscored by the safety and comfort of being “inside”.
Not sure if anything I said makes sense
