Any idea what caused this? I found the filament snaked around the insides of the printhead. Taking it apart was a nightmare that I don't want to repeat.

I had some issues getting the Siraya Tech foaming TPU aka PEBA Air to work initially. It seemed to be due to the filament profiles created by Siraya Tech was using the default retraction length of 10mm and this is a TPU like bendy filament that doesn't like retractions. I would watch the first few layers of filament go down fine, leave, and come back to nothing coming out of the nozzle. I would unloaded the filament, clip off the end, reloaded it, and get it extruding again before starting the next print attempt. I tried the automatic and manual loading to see if it would help.

After a few failed prints I checked the settings in depth and noticed the 10mm retraction length then changed it to 0mm and it printed reliably for a couple prints, until nothing came out at all. I did the filament unloading procedure but had to pull really hard to get it to come out and I'm not sure if it came out cleanly or snapped. I get the feeling the filament that caused the jam might of been broken off from earlier when I had the 10mm retraction, but I'm not sure. I just really really really don't want to ever have to take apart the printhead again. If you have any suggestions I'd really appreciate them!

Thanks!

This is flimsy limp noodle type filament that foams different amounts depending on the nozzle temperature, great for impact resistance. It is like TPU with nylon and foaming particles. I'm using it to make an electronics enclosure for an engineering client that needs the product to be able to take serious abuse. More info on the filament below.

Why did the PEBA Air jam?
