Dark Implications of the Intro đ
Lowkey isnât it kinda morbid what happens to the fish from the intro?
The whole movie sets up that they are brain scans and thus not that different from the NPCs like Caine, and he ends up joining the gang, accepted as one of them. This idea is further established when the Moon says she loves Caine despite not being programmed to, expressing free will. Same kind of symbolism that Gummigooâs backstory sets up.
The fish in the intro ends up killed as a meal in the credits tho when Kinger and Caine fish him up. Ik Caine said there are no intelligent NPCs on the beach when he introduced the beach adventure in episode 7, but this fish seems intelligent enough as a conscious being, mentioning his fear of death and discussing existential topics in the intro to the movie. And yet he is killed off as a joke. Despite not really seeming different from Caine or the human brain scans. This isnât me pushing for veganism or anything irl btw lol, itâs just that this fish is very different from irl fish, given his intelligence, ability to communicate, etc.
