The Devil's Prayer Ritual

The Devil’s Prayer: How to play

The object of the game is to make a wish come true - by summoning the Devil

Players:

One player, and one player only

Absolutely no one else

Requirements:

A box, either large or medium sized will do

A piece of paper

Tape or any other binding material

A smaller piece of paper, measuring exactly 6 by 6 inches.

A quiet room

Glue

One wish, making sure it is realistic

A knowledge of rituals and demons and safety (Optional but STRONGLY recommended)

Utmost respect for the Devil

The prelude:

Do not tell anyone you are going to do this ritual. If you do, cancel your plan. Begin at any time, and choose a dark quiet room. Get your box and glue it shut so it can never open again. Draw Lucifer’s Sigil on your piece of paper, and tape it to the top of the box. Place the box on any elevated surface in the room. This will be your altar. Turn off the light, leave the room and do not enter it for three hours. Hope no one else enters the room as well. While you are waiting, get your smaller paper and write your wish on it in as much detail as possible. Fold the paper into a small bundle and tape it shut. Also, consider if you truly respect the Devil, and if you don’t, then walk into the room early, remove the altar, then learn to have more respect for the Devil before trying again. Otherwise, you may proceed.

Summoning the Devil:

Exactly after the three hours have passed, enter the room with the folded paper in hand. Settle yourself in front of the altar and stare at it until you begin to feel… different. Once you are in the right mental state, face away from the altar. Wait. If nothing happens, do not proceed. If you feel great fear within you, turn to face the altar again. Do not show your fear. Say out loud “I acknowledge your presence here and welcome you into this room.” Do not show your fear. Slowly walk towards the altar. DO NOT SHOW YOUR FEAR. Place the folded paper in the middle of the altar. DO NOT SHOW YOUR FEAR!!! Slowly leave the room immediately. Close the door behind you. Do not look inside the room.

Epilogue:

If the ritual worked, you will know because you will feel repeatedly disoriented, and your fight or flight response is active. DON’T YOU DARE FALL ASLEEP FOR THE NEXT TWENTY-FOUR HOURS!!! Your wish will take as much time as it needs to come true. Do not rush it. Avoid telling people about your actions if you can help it. If too many people know, you can expect a decrease in quality of life, at best. Do NOT let the box be destroyed. Ever. You may only do this ritual a maximum of six times in your entire life. Choose those times wisely.

Additional notes:

A good description of the feeling you get when you stare at the altar is your chest getting warmer. You also start believing noises around you are not what they really are, and are failing to notice your surroundings. It’s also possible your body may forcibly repress the fear you feel after turning away from the altar, presumably because the fear is too great for you to handle. If this happens, look for fear indicators. These indicators include, but are not limited to:

Disorientation

Feeling physically light or unstable

Your heart rate increasing

Concerning if the box gets destroyed, you fall asleep within twenty-four hours after the ritual, or you show your fear at any time during the ritual:

You will get possessed by the Devil.

To abort the ritual:

You may only abort during the waiting period. If it hasn’t been three hours yet, enter the room early and remove the box from the room. If the three hours have passed, then wait another hour. Then remove the box from the room. The room is a HIGHLY DANGEROUS area during the time between the end of three hours and another hour after. Only try again if you are absolutely certain that you want to complete the ritual, and are capable of doing so.
