Auto Recall Lawyer ?
Location: North Carolina So in October 2023, I was driving down the road with my family to get groceries, on a road we've driven 1000+ times. Out of no where our airbags suddenly deployed all along the right side of the vehicle. I ran off the road, it popped a tire. I kept telling insurance I didn't pop my tire till after the bags deployed. They had an investigation done to the recorder and a few other things and said they determined that the system recognized it as a potential rollover... which to this day makes no sense because i never even swerved we were driving straight when they went off. Well I waited and waited because i knew It wasn't right, a something was wrong with that car. Low and behold this past week a recall was put out for the same year make model of vehicle, the same airbags that deployed were the recalled with the issue being a programming error in SRS ECU making side and curtain bags overly sensitive to underbody impacts. Such as slight bumps in the road, speed bumps, potholes, or road debris. Triggering them without warning. Well I call Honda hoping they make it right because I lost income cause of this. It was weeks maybe months almost without vehicle and had to pay out of pocket for a rental after my limits. Premium increases, Wife still has headaches often since the day they deployed beside her head. Van got repossessed because I couldn't afford it anymore with the insurance increase. Trauma to my children they hate being in cars now still. Well they said to complete a claim with them insurance must write a letter stating it was due to fault components and parts and or systems. My main question is should I ask the insurance company to revise and write a letter? Since they were wrong to assume that is how the incident was caused? Or straight to a lawyer?
