Booting from cloned drive “inaccessible boot drive”

Long ago I cloned my old dell latitude 5490 to a SSD that I had been cloning it to for a long time. It was able to boot from the clone as far as I know. I wiped the computer and am now trying to boot from the clone but I keep getting the “inaccessible boot drive” error no matter what I do. I have removed the computers internal hard drive and changed the SATA settings to AHCI and this have not helped. Any ideas to help me boot from the clone?
