So what exactly qualifies as a god in the universe?

Being as how the setting for Laufey is in the after life of the gods and thats where Feys spirit gets sent it made me wonder what exactly qualifies as a god? Fey is not a god, she is a Jotunn but yet she ends up in the Everywhen, which is meant for gods.

The Everywhen is described as the Origin of all magic and the end point where all magic returns, so it would appear that every magical being gets sent to the Everywhen not just gods being as how Fey arrived their as well as other magical beings seen there.

Also something I picked up during the gameplay trailer, Begtse calls Fey a "godling". Which raises another question, does that imply their is a classification of beings that are close to being gods but lack divinity or control over an element or aspect of the world? Or does that imply that anything immortal is a godling? It seems like the the term god only applies to beings that have a certain level of power assertion over the world wether they are divinely born with it or obtain it through ascension.

Whats your thoughts?
