Eligible for backpay? Worked only for 4 days

Rant 😡

Hi everyone. I need some advice regarding my 4-day stay at a company.

I recently started a new role, but after 4 days, I decided to resign immediately because the training setup wasn't a good fit for me.

After submitting my resignation letter through email, HR told me I just needed to "return the company properties." Since I was already traveling back to my province, I sent the items via Lalamove to ensure they were returned safely. However, when I said I already handed it, HR messaged me saying I actually need to be physically present for the turnover and exit clearance. This is my first employment so I didn’t know the process yet.

I haven't done an exit interview or signed a physical clearance form yet because I was already on the bus home.

My questions are:
Am I still eligible to receive my backpay for the 4 days I worked/trained?

Can they withhold my pay just because I wasn't physically there to sign the clearance, even if they already have the items?

Since I don't have a company payroll ATM yet, how is this usually paid out?

HR is currently checking if I can finish the clearance online, but I'm worried they might use my absence as a reason not to pay me for the time I actually worked.

Has anyone experienced this? Thank you in advance!
