I [25F] and guy I’m seeing [29M] have different opinions communication

I've been seeing a guy for about two weeks and I'm having trouble figuring out whether I'm overthinking this or if my concerns are valid.

Early on, he told me that he isn't a big texter and that a lack of communication via text caused problems in some of his past relationships. At the time, I told him that wasn't a big deal because I'm busy too.

However, when we first started seeing each other, he actually texted me quite a bit. He would tell me he was doing a good job texting because he was excited to talk to me. We were talking consistently and the conversations felt intentional and romantic.

We recently slept together for the first time. Since then, I've felt like his communication has changed. He still communicates, but it's more things like sending me an Instagram post, replying to one of my Snapchats, or reacting to something rather than having an actual conversation. Idk if it’s relevant to mention- but before we had sex he opened up to me his kinks/fetishes that he has, that he feels he needs in order to fully enjoy sex (tickling & foot fetish). He told me it was uncomfortable for him to talk about, and I was glad he felt comfortable communicating them with me. I told him I wasn’t really bothered by those things, and was very open to engaging with him with during sex. So in my opinion, I felt this was something that would bring us closer, but the next day we didn’t talk as much as we had the day prior.

Before I left town for a 5-day trip, I asked if we could talk in person because I felt like things had shifted. He made time to come see me before I left. During the conversation, he said that in his opinion he has still been doing a good job communicating and that sending me Instagram posts or replying to my Snapchats is his way of showing he's thinking about me. He asked how often I'd like to communicate, and I told him I don't think it's unreasonable to want at least one text or conversation a day with someone you're dating. He apologized and said he'd work on it. I am on day 2 of being out of town, and although he texted me twice, it doesn’t feel romantic and I can’t tell if it feels forced or not?

Something else that complicates this is that he has told me he has commitment issues. However, before we slept together, he told me that despite those issues, he really likes me and would want to pursue something with me when I'm ready. Also, he has consistently made an effort to see me in person and has taken me on dates.

My question is: am I self-sabotaging because I was afraid he would pull back after sex, so now I'm hyperaware of every change in communication? Or does it sound like there has actually been a meaningful shift here?

TLDR: Is it normal for someone you're dating not to want to text every day, or would that be a dealbreaker for you?
