Birth/marriage registration
I (hopefully) expect my §5 StAG application to be approved in the next few months. In anticipation of that long awaited day I'm looking to start getting ready to register my birth, marriage and children's births through the Berlin Standesamt. I have a few questions I hope someone who has gone through the process already can answer (especially after §5 StAG):
-
If I submit an application to register my birth do my parents need to sign the application? Do I need copies of their passports?
-
Are photocopies of passports accepted or do they need to be certified copies?
-
Do I need to fill out the name declaration part? I've heard that name declarations aren't required for §5 StAG.
-
If all applications are submitted together can common documents be 'shared' rather than having multiple copies of 1 document? For example I need a copy of my birth certificate for my birth, marriage and children's birth registration. So is 1 copy ok or do I need 4 certified copies?
-
Does Berlin Standesamt I require translations and apostilles on US documents?
Thanks you!
