New RDH Here – Any Dentrix Ascend Charting Tips?

Hi everyone,

I’m a new RDH and recently passed my boards on my 4th attempt after almost 2 years. It was a long journey, but I finally made it and just started working in private practice.

My office uses Dentrix Ascend, and I’m still getting comfortable with charting efficiently and making sure my notes are thorough. Does anyone have any tips, templates, shortcuts, or charting habits that helped you when you were a new hygienist?

I’d appreciate any advice on documenting perio findings, SRP, perio maintenance, OHI, and making sure my notes are legally sound without taking forever to complete.
