Did anyone have a great long term connection online but not irl?

I 20f met him 20m 2 years ago and we were best friends up until this year. We get on so well as friends but our dynamic is definitely a bit more mushy and romantic now lol. We aren’t making it official until we’ve met (my call) because i wanna see how we are together irl. I feel a lot of pressure for it to be perfect because he’s my best friend but what if irl there’s no romantic chemistry? Idk if other people worry about that but he’s so obsessed with me and I love him so much. I’m just worried about it translating into real life. We are safe spaces for eachother and have a great connection online but I have had doubts just because of distance but I do have anxiety so maybe I’m overthinking. Did anyone else have a perfect bond over text but not irl?
