I have been embarrassed so much. Idk how to react 19f

Studying engineering in pvt college. I haven't really made a lot of friends , in fact i can't call a single person my friend. I sit alone and mostly do all the chores alone, so many of my profs ask me why i sit alone and if i dont have friends. Not just them , but even some of my classmates are like oh she doesn't talk she doesn't have friends etc. Idk how to react its so embarrassing. The thing is i am generally very quite i am not humorous im not charming or like other people, but i like to be around people. When i made friends in the first sem they used to ask me if i am on moun vrat cus i dont talk, thats just my nature you know. But i guess people dont like that and i can sense that they dont like my company. Hence i have gradually stopped seeking people and show no interest in friendships. I dont expect everyone to understand me, but it feels very very embarrassing to be asked this way and treated so
