So TDLR I started writing a fiction (book?) about a writing promopt I seen a while ago that I thought could be easily adaptable into a yandere format.

When writing, (this is my first offical writing attempt despite reading fan fiction since 14ish) I don't know how to go about writing the character without going 0-100. I want it to be more like a slow burn, but not too slow that readers get bored. Where I find it hard is that this was supposed to be a one shot, but I didnt want to jump into the obsession right away, so that's why the chapter is so long.

My ultimate goal is for readers to know something is wrong with the character, (James) but the MC is somewhat oblivious. Not stupid oblivious, but more of a gave too much benefit of the doubt.

This all being said, I'll link where I've started writing the first chapter below if it's allowed and I'd love some feedback if anyone has the time. Wattpad says it's around a 17 minute read to take that into account.

I don't want to spoil anything because I feel like I have an idea of where I want this to go but I more so wany to feel what vibe you guys are getting, and if I should drop more hints on him being a yandere oe keep going how I'm going.

Wanting some advice on a specific character type.
