Why is man held accountable?

Arabic]

Proposed Title: Between the "Law of the Jungle" and the "Trust of Stewardship"... Why is Man Held Accountable?

I have often asked myself: Why do we establish justice and hold humans accountable for their actions, while overlooking the moral systems found in the animal kingdom? Are we truly superior, or is it just "cognitive arrogance" we practice to assert our dominance?

In a deep dialogue, we moved past philosophical shells and conventional masks to reach the core truth:

  1. The difference is not in the "existence of the principle": Animals have social control systems, but they operate within an "instinctive response." Man, however, is a "spoken-to being" (a moral addressee).

  2. Names and Authority: All the human labels we have created for justice (social contract, law, constitution) may be merely "names that you and your forefathers have named," unless they derive their legitimacy from an "authority" beyond limited human experience.

  3. The Trust (Amanah) and the Covenant: Man is held accountable because he is the "bearer of the Trust." We have covenanted with the Creator to be stewards, reformers, not corrupters. Punishment here is not "revenge" or "tyranny," but a "course correction" for those who broke the covenant.

  4. Constraining Behavior: We are surrounded by four pillars that govern our existence: (Religion, The Trust, Innate Nature/Fitra, and The Covenant). Whoever adheres to them lives in peace, and whoever legislates others and becomes tyrannical through them falls into the trap of "Pharaonism," which turns laws into tools of whim rather than tools of truth.

Conclusion:

We do not have the right to tyranny, even if we are judges; for true justice is that which adheres to the "measure of the breach" in the balance established by the Creator, without increase or decrease. Man is not the master of the earth by his own hand, but rather a "trustee" over it by his covenant.
