I need help, I think I'm soft locked but I'm hopeful that I'm not

I opened the gate to the place that you get the grav boots from but I decided to explore in another area first and then come back. I found a save room in the Isolation zone and saved there but I've been looking everywhere and I can't find a way to get back to where I was before to get the grav boots.

My last saves are from 1 hour and 30-2 hours. It would really suck to have to go back to them. Can anyone please help me out?
