22 years old, living in Panama, considering commercial diving as a career. Looking for honest advice.

Hello everyone,

I am 22 years old and I am looking for honest advice about starting a career in commercial diving.

I was born in Venezuela and currently live in Panama. I grew up near the sea and have always loved the ocean. Recently, I started researching commercial diving, underwater construction, underwater welding, and ROV careers.

Right now, I work very hard to support myself. During the day I work as a delivery driver using my motorcycle, and at night I work in a restaurant. Because of this, paying for commercial diving school would be a major financial investment for me, and I want to make sure it is worth it before committing to it.

Another reason I am interested in this field is that here in Panama there seem to be companies and training centers that offer programs in commercial diving and underwater welding. However, I do not yet know all the details about these programs, their costs, certifications, or job opportunities after graduation. I am currently researching and trying to gather as much information as possible before making a decision.

My current situation:

- 22 years old

- Venezuelan living in Panama

- No professional diving experience yet

- Work as a motorcycle delivery driver during the day

- Work in a restaurant at night

- Interested in commercial diving, underwater welding, offshore work, and ROV operations

- My English is not very good, but I am willing to study and improve it if this career offers good opportunities

My goal is to build a stable career, improve my financial situation, and work in an industry related to the ocean, which has always been a passion of mine.
