I wonder if distinct cultures will develop

Given how the planet in LNF is gonna be huge compared to NMS, and we're all gonna be there together, I really wonder how civilization will develop for players. It seems like NPC civs of some sort will exist (no idea the size) but it would be cool if people lived in different biomes on the planet and developed actual distinct cultures around life in those areas.

And if this does happen, I really wonder if the cultures will mirror others. Like, northerners in many fictions are seen as tough and sparse, people towards the centre are often more mercantile and have big cities, and northerners often feel superior to them. I wonder if stuff like that will happen. It'd be so, so interesting to see. Hopefully we don't develop racism again.
