Why Papyrus is Cooped Up Constantly

What if Papyrus works at Ice-E's and the reason he's so antisocial in DR is because he had just gotten home and wants to sleep while Sans does his shift? What if he offered up an idea to add "flaming hot spaghetti pizza" to the menu and he was rejected by the public and it's really getting to him? What if, because there is no "Royal Guard" besides, like, the police station, he has to work a minimum wage job with a collection of mascot weirdos and the place starting to close down due to copyright infringement? What if he finds a happier job working at QC's, instead? What if he finds out who MTT is at the festival and they start talking, finding a spark within each other that each of them was missing, and they make plans to hang out and watch Tenna before the inevitable Roaring (TM) commences?
