doubt about ps5 prebooking

is it normal for playstation exclusive stores to ask money for prebooking? a store i asked said the minimum is 5k. the people who bought a ps5 from playstation exclusives, did yall pay this much for prebooking? if so, did you have to pay the full amount again or was the 5k cut from the final amount?
