High risk - Gardasil vaccinated

33f tested positive for high risk HPV at a recent PAP. Tested yearly for STD/STIs and PAPS have always been normal. I had a PAP last month and my primary said I have high risk HPV, although she said the strain doesn’t matter and I need to return yearly. I am pretty ashamed regardless of how “common” it is because it is scary and I can’t even research the strain because she said it won’t matter. I have been responsible and have had very few partners and apparently not safe enough. I had the gardasil vaccine sometimes between 2007-2009 (I can’t remember). I know that adults can now get vaccinated, but she said it’s not necessary because I’m already positive. Anyone experience this?
