Making friends in pubic places for 32F

Hey! So I’m new in town and wanted to ask some recommendations on where to just make friends with people preferably my age group. I’ve joined those social clubs on IG, and it’s been okay but also weird because most of the time, everyone is just sooo young and in their early 20s so the vibes don’t completely match. I tried to just go to bars and sit by the bar— I travel solo a lot and this works well for me in all other countries I visit like Japan etc — but no one really talks to you in those places. Looking for a vibe similar to Golden Gai in Tokyo if anyone has ever been.

Would appreciate recommendations, maybe I’m just not looking at the right places.
