Can RCS messaging on Android phones replace whatsapp?

So I have been using RCS messaging for a while now to share location, pics and docs to the people who I do want to share my whatsapp number and found it really helpful.

How many people are using it and to those who are using it, do you find it helpful? Do you think it'll replace whatsapp to some extent in future?
