episode 9 controversy
okay so it's very clear how divided the fandom is at the moment with the ending of tadc but personally I just wanted to get my thoughts out there as a die hard fan of this show since it's first ever teaser.
I think the ending was perfect. Yeah it was predicted , had plot holes and unanswered questions but in the end what really matters is that the show had lived up to it's meaning and the idea of "finding meaning in a stagnant life" that goose was constantly showing all throughout the show. I think it was clear from the beginning that they were never going to be escaping from the circus which is why the brainscan/soma theory was the most popular and ended up being the one that was used, but predictability doesn't always mean BAD. It's so disappointing to go online after having the time of my life in theatres only to see so much criticism from "fans" claiming that the show didn't live up to it's potential. The show had a total of like 4hrs runtime and when you take a step back from the show after realising how little that time is, gooseworx did amazing to get their point across with the ending and scenes that were appealing to the majority of their audience that never lashed out on them for the work they put out. Tadc is the first indie show to ever have its finale aired in theatres and to say that goose is a bad writer contradicts every good thing thats happened to this show in the last three years. It's honestly so childish and embarrassing to see such negativity about something that can't be changed, especially when considering people like that couldn't compete with the incredible work goose has created. I could sit and defend this show forever but it's inevitably pointless as since the pilot first aired there was always going to be a group of people who would tear down the show for it's ending.
anyways im going to watch it a third time in theatres for another incredible experience and enjoy myself knowing that what we got was the best possible outcome for an ending .
