Had sex for the first time and my pelvis was on fire

okay so my boyfriend and I decided to have sex. I was a virgin so naturally I knew it was going to be painful. when he first entered we were in missionary but the pain was so immense I told him to stop. The pain was around my pelvis as well. I was fully aroused. every time he entered it felt like it was the first time all over again like my muscles weren’t getting used to it at all. Every time he moved inside me it was like my hips were on fire. my whole pelvic area was in immense pain. We tried different positions and made sure I was well lubricated. When I got on top, it was better but the pain was still very much there. My period is starting in a couple days so I wondered if it also could have contributed to the pain. I just hope that all future sex isn’t like this for me
