This disease has taken my life away.

I got diagnosed at 20 years old on my birthday last year, and it’s not been a downhill spiral since. I live at home with my verbally abusive family and am unfortunately depended on them since my diagnosis. I was discharged from the hospital a few days after getting the diagnosis done without any medication of where to go next, but thankfully I was able to get set up with a GI after lots of tedious phone calls later, and met with her soon after. They put me on prednisone and i’ve been on and off of it since, with the dosages varying and a few breaks in between. That was supposed to honestly be a band-aide until I could start actual biologics, and about 1 1/2 months ago I started entyvio, very easy process because the verse just comes down to the house and I sit with an IV in my arm for an hour or two (though the approval process for this was hell) I was finally feeling optimistic about things because I was hoping I’d start feeling better at some point.

I wish I could say that still stands, but nothing has improved. I’m stuck at home all hours of the day, with on and off low grade fevers, stomach pain, frequent diarrhea, and lingering nausea. They have since taken me off prednisone because I started the biologic, and they gave me some antibiotics that did get me feeling better for a few days, but I went right back to feeling too sick to even leave the house after finishing them, and they really do not want to give me more. I’m stable enough to not need to be hospitalized, but sick enough to be never able to leave. I hate being stuck here, I’m 20 years old, I should be getting a job and moving out. (also to mention I had to quit my previous job do to my diagnosis) Is there any silver lining in this? When will the entyvio actually make me feel better? (if at all) I’m sick of having to stick to a strict plain food diet when it doesn’t even make a difference. I’m at my wits end, I want my life back.
