Thinking of #3, panic during births.
We are thinking of going for babe #3, but after two wild births idk what to do/ask about/request in order to try and have a more positive birth.
Backstory:
Baby 1-induction at 41 weeks, only to realize he was plum out of amniotic fluid, which was tanking his heart rate. I panicked the entire time and was catatonic with wild heart rate/blood pressure
Baby 2-spontaneous and fast birth at 39 weeks, didn’t make it to hospital in time for epidural. They said I got a spinal or that they attempted it, I truly have no clue. It was such a flurry and I was in hysterics bc babe had pooped inside and wasn’t doing well and this was a very off script situation.
So for #3 I would like to *not* go into a catatonic blur. I warned my obgyn at the start of pregnancy #2 that I was worried I’d panic again, she wasn’t concerned. When I arrived at the hospital for #2 and knew he had pooped (water broke, it was green) I told them I was panicking and had former birth trauma that was going to make me be on edge. They didn’t believe me. Both pregnancies were really uneventful up until their births.
Any advice on how to better advocate, or tips on how to cope during birth?
I don’t plan to go to the same doctor or hospital.
