First Reddit post ever - sorry if I'm not doing it "right".

Lived here 9 years. The only upgrades from these photos are all stainless steel appliances and the range hood is replaced with a stainless steel microwave.

Honestly so much about the house layout is not ideal, and the paint from the previous owners is terrible (imo) but I don't have an eye for interior design so I haven't changed anything.

**What would you do to this kitchen to make it more aesthetically pleasing and/or user friendly?**

Some ideas I/we've had:
1. Lower the bar counter to be regular counter height so it feels more open
2. Extend cabinets to the ceiling.
3. Change the paint from green with green stripes (but to what?) and how does that choice impact the living room (where the wall curves and the green paint collab continues)
4. Add double door storage above the pantry.

*Note: there is a bathroom in the hallway behind the pantry, and my carpenter father advised me that the pantry was likely built that way to hide the bathroom from the view of the kitchen.*

I also hate the light fixtures. But again, no idea of what to change them to. Wholly, the struggle is pairing a bunch of changes together to make the kitchen cohesive. Idk if that makes sense.

Anyway, thanks for any input. 😅
